I am enthusiastic about making our communities safe and pleasant places to live and believe that it is very important to retain the character of Christchurch as it expands. Our green and urban spaces should not be sacrificed nor should existing communities become thoroughfares to newer suburbs.
Wherever we live there should be equal access to public facilities for all, and travel within the city needs to be free of gridlocks. Public transport must have priority, be affordable, accessible and timetabled so that it is the first choice for all users. I am keen to re-establish decision-making within our communities and that the Christchurch City Council responds to their needs.
I have a Ph.D in science, and have had 30 years experience in developing solutions for government and business, and have served at least ten years as a member of two school boards while my children were growing up. I am good at solving problems, enjoy working with people, can relate to people from all walks of life, and able to develop compromise solutions. With the help of my Christchurch 2021 colleagues, I look forward to serving you!
