Glenn Livingstone for Fendalton Waimairi City Council and Community Board
I look forward to working on behalf of Fendalton/Waimairi on the City Council ensuring
safer roading, footpaths and cycle-ways, pure water supply, coordination of youth mentoring schemes and easier decision-making for our older people and our multi-cultured community.
I am 43 and married to Anthea. We have 6 children, attending Trengrove Kindergarten, Wairakei, Cobham and Burnside High.
I have been a Presbyterian Minister for 18 years, currently the Senior Minister of St. Andrews at Rangi Ruru. I am a McLean Institute Trustee, overseeing the redevelopment of Holly Lea. I participate in civic sports events, including the Coast to Coast.
I believe that any new Civic Centre must be undergirded by two principles:
Firstly, that as form follows function, so mortar must follow mission, with a new Civic Centre reflecting this maxim.
Secondly, that in outlaying economic capital, the Council must first invest in social capital, by listening to its rate-payers.
I look forward to working as an elected member in a City Council listening to its people, not only to what is being said but to behind what is being said.
