Brenda Lowe Johnson for Hagley Ferrymead Community Board
Kia Ora and Greetings
I am Ngai Tahu, Scottish and Irish and proud of all my heritages. I have lived in the Hagley/Ferrymead ward for the last 20 years, and I'm married to Sala Johnson, a Samoan. I am a truly multicultural kiwi! All people are equal in my eyes...
For 38 years I have been actively involved in many community agencies in Canterbury. I have developed a strong grassroots approach, understand governance very well and have extensive community knowledge.
Current positions held:
Business Development Officer Pacific Island Evaluation
Member of Care and Protection Panel of Child Youth and Family
Chairperson, Wool Ladies Trust
Member, Mayors Welfare
Member, Meridian Energy Advocacy Consumer Group
A part time budgeter at Christchurch Budgeting Service
Member of the Court Advisory Board
Trustee of the Canterbury Community Trust
Lion of the New Brighton Group
Treasurer of the Marist Rugby League Club
As an elected representative on the Hagley/Ferrymead Board I have worked hard to ensure there has been a fair democratic process and that residents know they have been supported. I have served my local community with all my knowledge and ability. I would like to work for the ward for another 3 years with the experience I have gained in that period.
