Anna Crighton
for the District Health Board
I have a proven track record as a hard working, accessible and accountable
city councillor. I went into local government to make a difference
and I have, and I now want to make a difference in health.
As I am not standing again for the city council, my energies
will be devoted to representing your views at the district health
board, and improving access to quality and safe hospital and community
care, for both rural and urban communities.
I am concerned about the continuing issues of access to Christchurch
Hospital. I will work towards improving the rates of elective
surgery, a review of maternity services, including improvements
to the birthing units at Burwood, Rangiora and Lincoln Hospitals.
We must eliminate the continuing problem of our Accident and Emergency
Department being in "gridlock". Safe, high quality hospital
treatment must be readily available when needed.
