A foundation member of Christchurch 2021, I seek re-election
to the District Health Board so that I can continue the positive
contribution that I am making to the improvement of health services
for the people of Canterbury. My priorities include the retention
of our rural hospitals, aged care and the provision of health
services for our children and young people, including effective
mental health and alcohol and drug services.
I am working for a re-designed and expanded Christchurch Hospital
Emergency Department with improved staffing and patient care.
I support further investment in our oral health services with
modern community oral health facilities. I will work for more
effective primary health care services for our children including
"ready for school" health and wellness checks, newborn
hearing screening, early intervention and increased immunisation
rates.
I am 53 years of age, a barrister specialising in Youth Court
and Youth Drug Court. I have considerable experience in the community
and voluntary sector, and currently Chair the successful Christchurch
Supergrans Trust. My governance experience includes almost twenty
years as a Christchurch City Councillor.
An active and hard working board member, I deliver on my commitments.
